Dental Implant

WHAT ARE THE ALTERNATIVES TO ENDODONTIC TREATMENT?

It is not always possible to save the tooth. Often, the only alternative is the removal of the tooth. However, losing a tooth can affect your ability to bite and chew, cause other healthy teeth to shift and have a negative impact on your overall health as well as make you self-conscious.  For these reasons, the extracted tooth should be replaced with an artificial one, often called a dental implant, as soon as it is practical.

WHAT IS A DENTAL IMPLANT’

Implants are replacement for missing teeth. A dental implant is a titanium metal root placed into your jaw to hold and support a replacement  crown in place.

Titanium is a well tolerated bio compatible material. The implant is designed to copy the shape of the root. The implant is surgically placed into the jaw at the site of the missing tooth.   Dental implants have been used for many years and are suitable for of all ages. The overall health and social habits of the individual can affect the suitability of a patient for implants. Implants can replace a single tooth, several teeth or support partial or full dentures.
